INDUCTION CEREMONY 2025

IMA-MSN hosted the Induction Ceremony for the year 2025-2026 at the New Auditorium, Goa Medical College, Bambolim.

The function was honoured by

Prof. Dr. S.M. Bandekar as the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour

Dr. Dattaram Desai (IMA Goa State President),
Dr. Sandip Sardessai (Director of Academic Section, GMC),
Dr. Jagadish A. Cacodkar (IMA-MSN Advisor),
and Dr. Nilesh Talwadkar (IMA Tiswadi President).

Members of the outgoing and incoming council were also in attendance.

The event featured speeches by the distinguished guests emphasising the importance of the occasion.

A token of exchange between the outgoing and incoming council was held.

The event concluded with an inspirational address by Guest Speaker, Dr. Dipti Srivastava.

World Downs Syndrome Day

Under the guidance of pediatrics department, GMC IMA-MSN Goa conducted its first activity – Commemorating The WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY.

An educational talk was delivered by the members of MSN at the OPD setting on Down’s Syndrome.

Followed by recreational activity like hand painting, games for the kids (diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome), video presentation etc.

The event was conducted in the Pediatrics Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre, GMC.

Blood Donation Drive

IMA-MSN Goa in collaboration with the Students council association of Goa Medical College organized an one week Blood donation drive at the Blood Bank of Goa Medical College.

101 kind souls came forward to donate their blood and save lives.

Visit to DILASA- Palliative Care Centre

We had the unique opportunity to visit Dilasa– A Palliative care centre based in Ponda and got the chance to interact with the patients living at Dilasa and attend a comprehensive session on Palliative care by the Doctor in charge. The MSN members also organised games and karaoke sessions for the patients which brought lasting smiles on their wise faces.

Poster and Reel Making Competition- World Blood Donor's Day

Under the guidance of the Transfusion Department, GMC conducted an intercollegiate reel making competition on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. The theme for the same was-Give Blood, Give Hope: Together we save lives. Participants from several colleges of Goa showcased their creativity and talent. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners. The reels were shared by many on various social media platforms and helped spread awareness on the importance of timely blood donation.

We also conducted a poster making competition for the students of Goa Medical College including MBBS, AHS and BSc. Nursing students. The hand-made posters highlighted the impact of blood donations on the lives of the people who need them. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners. The informative posters were framed and displayed in the department of Transfusion Medicine in order to raise public awareness on the same.

-At The Cross-Roads of Knowledge

We conducted a quiz competition for the first year MBBS students of Goa Medical College.

The quiz focused mainly on the subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Community Medicine.

An elimination round was conducted in which all the students of the first year participated.

The elimination round was followed by the finals in which 6 teams of two each were selected.

All the students of first year including the senior faculty attended the event. The quiz had a prize pool of Rs. 15000+ and spot prizes to keep the audience entertained.

The quiz was comprised of several rounds and focused on understanding the interconnectedness of the human body rather than just rote memorization.
